Seek financing or provide proof of funds.

"Depot de garantie" nominal deposit to Notaire to begin legal transaction, title work etc. Provide identification and proof of funds to Notaire.
"Promesse de la vente" happens when the seller accepts the offer and you are under contract.
Finalizing the contract and taking possession of your new home.
The Notaire will publish the intended sale in the public record, do the title search and prepare the closing documents.
The final stage in the process is a meeting with the Notaire and the Seller to sign the purchase papers. During this meeting the Notaire will describe the legal agreement in great detail.
Immediately after the meeting with the Notary, the house is yours! Féliciations.
